Dear Birth Parents,
Thanks for taking the time to learn about us as you consider an adoption plan for your child. We are a compassionate, same-sex couple who love adventures, animals, and friendly competition with board games, among many other things. Our hope is that you will get to know us by reading our profile.
If you decide to make an adoption plan, we want to respect you and whatever level of openness and contact you want to have with your child. We promise to cherish and love your child with all our hearts and to provide a safe and happy home. We promise to provide your precious little one with a loving, nurturing, and adventurous life. You can also be assured that your gift will never be taken for granted.
We first met on a dating website. After many hours of talking and texting, we decided it was time. Our first date was a hike at Rattlesnake Point. Concetta brought Bailey her Morkie (Dog). We enjoyed each other’s stories and company. We knew from that hike that there was a spark! Every day after that hike, we spent time together. The location where we first met was where Concetta (and Bailey) proposed and Shannon said “Yes”. Shannon then proposed to Concetta later that month. We have been married for three amazing years. During that time, we’ve been through a lot and have grown to depend on one another for love, support and understanding.
I was born in Burlington, Ontario. I am an only child. I was raised by my superhero, my mom. My dad left when I was born, and I would not change a thing about my upbringing. I grew up with a very close family and support system. My family is very important to me. My mom has three siblings who have five children. We spend all our holidays together. I started my education in French immersion. I love learning about different cultures and languages. I always enjoyed it when my family hosted exchange students from Spain, France, and Mexico. I completed my post-secondary education with honours in Child and Youth Studies. I have been working in the Child and Youth field since 2007. I hope this gives you a brief description of who I am. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me!
Meet Concetta
I was born and raised in Oakville, where I lived with my Mom (Geri), Dad (Cesare), and younger sister (Sonia). I am Canadian, but my background is Italian. I grew up learning many family recipes, such as making tomato sauce, cured meats, pizza, pasta, and cookies. My Italian heritage produces delicious food and brings our large family together for many special occasions! I have been working as a dental hygienist for more than 10 years.
Initially, people would describe me as shy and introverted; however, once I am comfortable, I become my goofy and outgoing self. I love adventures and am looking forward to the adventure that awaits.
Our Home
Our home is located in a family-friendly neighbourhood, close to parks, schools, community centers, and nature trails. We love spending time in our pool and playing games in the recreational room. We have lovely neighbours who are like family. Our area has many children of varying ages.
Our house has plenty of room to grow as we embark on the adoption journey. A home is much more than a roof with four surrounding walls. It’s about the life we live there and anyone we might share it with.
No matter the size or style of home you live in, what’s most important is how you feel when you’re there. Home is where you are free to be your most authentic self. It’s where you can celebrate the good times and muddle through the bad times. It’s where you enjoy the present and dream about the future.
Our fur babies
Bailey is a very gentle and quiet dog. She loves to be snuggled into nooks or basking in the sun. She has an overbite and often has her tongue sticking out. Bailey loves her sister Luna (cat). They are the same size! Bailey loves to join us on hikes, beach trips and to her grandparents’ houses! Our entire family adores Bailey, and he is amazing with children.
Luna is the sweetest girl. She loves to cuddle and get her belly rubbed. We have fostered Luna and her siblings since birth. Luna was the only one in the litter with a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia. condition does not affect her quality of life; she is just a little wobbly! She needed a little extra care as a kitten, so we baby-proofed the house. We ended up falling in love with her and adopting her.
Thank you
